Beaches in Mumbles
Welcome to the beautiful Gower Peninsula, the first area to be designated as an area of The Gower Peninsula Beach Guide outstanding natural beauty by the Countryside Agency on behalf of the UK government. The Gower Peninsula is amongst the most treasured landscape for its beaches and hidden coves. Swansea itself has the curve of Swansea Bay, ending with the fantastic village of Mumbles. From Mumbles onwards you can walk for 19 miles following the coast all the way around to Llangennith visiting numerous bay, all with their own unique features along the way. In recent years the Gower has become a very popular tourist destination in the Summer and Winter months alike. Some of the most popular beaches Langland/Caswell situated just a mile from Mumbles and Oxwich some 5 miles away are very popular with families. Pwll Du Head looking towards Caswell point Beaches further a field including Port Eynon / Horton are more synonymous with campers. For the adventure visitor Llangennith offers almost year round swell with it very rarely being flat.

Swansea Bay
The sandy 6-mile curve of Swansea bay lines the city with opportunity for sunning, sandcastle-building and fishing. Any position around the Bay affords a spectacular view, either of towards Mumbles Point or the city, and on a clear day even Devon can be seen across the Bristol channel.

Pwll Du Bay
Pwll Du is one of the most secluded beaches on Gower, situated about 25 minutes from the village of Bishopston. Welsh for "black pool", "Pwll Du" is an almost circular cove at the edge of Bishopston Valley. Sheltered from high cliffs on either side, the bay is protected from the wind.
