Langland Bay
Langland Bay is a superb stretch of sandy beach and is popular with almost everyone - from water sports enthusiasts to sun worshippers, and in the winter sunset catchers and dogwalkers. The bay?s shelter from the predominant onshore winds means it proves a regular spot for both local and visiting surfers, and watersports enthusiasts of every type. Langland is one of the Gower Surfing hot spots, renowned around the UK's surf scene for its many different types of breaks from gentle point breaks to heavy left handers.
If you?re feeling peckish during your visit, the Surfside Cafe sells hot and cold snacks and ice creams. Also, the new Brasseria restaurant and cafe bar offers quality cuisine and a licensed bar.
The Westerly headland boasts a fine golf course and from there, a long row of stripey beach huts line the coast, and have become something of a landmark. The beach is well facilitated, with outdoor showers, public toilets, St John Ambulance and an Information Centre open at peak times, and even tennis courts available to book.
The beach stretches across to Rotherslade Bay, although the two are separated at high tide. Rotherslade has its own cafe and toilet facilities, as well its row of stripey huts, and is a great spot from which to enjoy the great view of the Langland headland.
Situated around the headland from Bracelet Bay, Mumbles, Rotherslade can be reached on foot via a 15 minute walk from Mumbles, or a longer more scenic coastal path, which can then be followed round to Langland Bay.
