Oxwich Bay
The privately owned Oxwich Bay is one of Gower?s most popular resorts - unsurprisingly due as its beach is a vast stretch of golden sands. Oxwich was voted Britain?s best beach, and one of the top 12 in the world by The Travel Magazine in February 2007.
Watersports of every kind take place here, including sailing, surfing, diving, waterskiing and windsurfing, and there?s a slipway for launching boats.
The beach is very popular during high season, but if you?re not looking to join the crowds, there are plenty of clear spots to be found if you don?t mind walking to find one.
Oxwich Bay is especially great for walkers and nature enthusiasts with the National Nature Reserve nearby .
