Three Cliffs
This striking bay takes its name from the three peaks off the headland, which provide a naturally beautiful and unique view. A river path curves through the sand during high tide, adding to the idyllic scene.
The stunning Gower landmark topped the BBC Holiday Hit Squad nationwide competition in June 2006 and is one of Gower's most photographed locations. When you're there it's not hard to see why.
Access to the beach isn?t easy, which tends to ensure that despite the beach?s smashing criteria, it is never packed. The walk is pleasant though; roughly a mile through woodland and over sandy dunes. You may even spot wild horses on your way. The ruins of Pennard Castle are fantastically scenic and remind us of those who have enjoyed the bay before us.
Undertake swimming with care, as Three Cliffs is susceptible to rip tides.
